I like NT Wright

What? Really? Since when? And what have you read by him?

Hey I started a book by him today... and I really like it so far.

I'm crying tears of sadness inside my heart.

So since you are going to hear him speak I thought you liked him and I was thinking, "Oh good! Steven and I finally like a similar author...." and I was so excited.... and the excitement has now deflated since I see that you, in fact, don't like NT Wright for some reason I am sure I won't understand. :) I have never met anyone so bitter to authors and pastors as you... do you really think Jesus is dissatisfied with their honest attempt to love him and love people? I say all this with a grin by the way... I am not trying to be argumentative...just trying to understand my extremely intellectual and complicated brother in law. :)

I've read a little of him and I liked what he said--here's one speech he gave at SPU on postmodern thinking:http://www.spu.edu/depts/uc/response/summer2k5/features/postmodern.asp

have you guys not heard about steven and nt wright? their beef goes way back. a few years ago it came to fisticuffs and they haven't spoken since. i think it's a bit of a tetchy subject.

Jane, you're awesome! Maybe we can continue commenting and make this the shortest post with the most comments (although it's probably already reached that point anyway...)

Bitter? No, I just like extreme statements. Jane's right. Tom Wright and I nearly came to blows over a girl back in 2003.
Also, I think he is very solid in a lot of areas...and he is very smart, that's for sure. I just think his net influence will be negative in the church.

why?
