A Fast

I hate spending time on the internet, in that, I hate but love it sort of way.

So I am announcing, in a semi-public arena, that I am entering a media type fast, for the next six months.

Drastic, right? But when have I ever shied away from drastic things?

So here are the terms, and you, my friends will please be kind enough to hold me accountable.

1. Email is a-ok.

2. I can post in my blog anytime I want, although I will just check other blogs once a day.

3. And there may be some other uses...par example, research purposes, nav related stuff, etc.

4. Mainly, entertainment, youtube, sports, news, etc. are the things i don't want messing up my life anymore.

So it starts tomorrow. Help me please. the end date is September 26th, 2008.

I stole this from mike, who stole it from someone else.

Some asides from Skip Grey

On prophecy:

Most pastors try to make people feel good. I try to piss them off.

On family life:

We had a very normal home. We drank whiskey and played poker.

On his ministry philosophy:

Golf in the spring, fish in the summer, hunt in the fall, ski in the winter, preach the gospel in the offseason.

On demographics and child-rearing:

One out of every four children born today is Chinese. That's why Buzzie and I stopped at three. We don't speak Chinese.

On hearing loss:

A woman had ten children in ten years, then stopped. A few months later, she ran into her doctor at the store. He asked her why he hadn't seen her in so long.

"Well, you see, I got a hearing aid."

"I don't see what difference that makes," the doctor replied, a bit confused.

"It's like this," explained the woman. "When my husband and I got in bed, he would turn to me and say 'Do you want to go to sleep or what?' and I would say 'What?'"

Spring Break, Controversy, and other assorted things

So the combination of Spring Break and a controversial post have left me with an all-time low in blog posts for the month of March. To make up for that, I will be posting once a day for this whole week!

Highlights from Spring Break trip:

1. Skiing at Loveland, including taking a jump far too fast and ending up on my back, looking up at a gaggle of skiers on the lift, conveniently traveling directly above my head.

2. Dinner with my cousin Todd and his wife Jenny. Todd and Jenny fed me and five students, who had come to hear Todd talk a bit about how his experiences after college.

3. Time with old friend Matt, and newesque friend Brad, and new friend Daniel, when a freak coincidence resulted in the University of Alabama Navs being at the Glen at the same time as us.
4. No awkward situations.

Answer this question!

Who is the coolest?

I thought so.

Second questions?

(That was the second question. I just blew your mind.)

If I had to be a fruit, it would be a kiwi.

If I had to be a candle, it would smell like vomit. Guess why.

Things I did today?

1. Starbucks
2. Racketball
3. Lunch with my mom
4. Concur
5. Bookman's

It is my day off so don't get on my case, ok? That's right.

One book I just read that I really liked. Let Me Be A Woman, by Ms. Elisabeth Eliot.
